Recently I have decided to take on some projects to get myself out of a slump. Among these projects has been painting Halli's headboard and foot board, crocheting slippers, recycling crayons, and decorating the house more.
The headboard isn't totally finished, but Halli got sick of sleeping in the guest room, so I'll add the heart accents later. The crayons were a great way of putting the witch finger mold my Mother In Law got Halli last year to use, and they made amazing crayons I might add!! It was rather a messy process, since I am a perfectionist (and it was 95 outside so I didn't want to turn on my oven) I microwaved the crayons in my glass measuring cup and then poured them into the mold so I wouldn't overfill them. It worked for the most part, and I didn't really have to clean out the cup between crayons because it would blend so well. The only problems were that the microwave and measuring cup got really hot and I had to take some comet to my measuring cup afterwards because regular soap and water would clean all the crayon off completely. But other then that the kids have cool new crayons, no more papers on them, and no more tiny broken pieces everywhere!!
What a creative mind you have. Did the kid's love the cool crayons? I will be looking for more fun molds for you and the kids. Miss you all terribly.
ReplyDeleteCute headboard. Can't wait to see the hearts! And those crayons are a great idea, Max!
